NEWPORT -- Workers resurfacing Lower Thames Street will be spending the next three days, Friday (4/28), Monday, and Tuesday (day), adjusting the mill work along certain catch basins and manholes, the city reports in its latest update on the project.
And while crews had to divert traffic intermittently earlier in the week, the road will be open for traffic during this phase of the project.
As far as repaving goes, "We currently anticipate paving will be conducted on Tuesday (5/1) and Wednesday (5/2) evenings, 9 p.m. – 4 a.m." the city reported Thursday. The roadway may be closed intermittently to traffic during the paving operation.
Parking restrictions will remain in place, as posted, until the construction is complete. Please be advised that vehicles that are not moved will be towed.
No traffic or parking restrictions will be in place over the weekend.
