A release from Lt. William Fitzgerald of the Newport Police Department details traffic and parking restrictions in the Long Wharf area during the Ocean State Tall Ships festival:
The following travel restrictions will be: A one way lane of travel on Washington Street from the corner of Long Wharf to the Causeway, north bound only.
The south bound lane of travel will be closed to traffic due to vendors for the event. There will be no parking on both sides of the roadway on Washington Street to the Causeway. Long Wharf lanes of travel in both directions will not be affected.
The time and dates of restrictions for Washington Street from the corner of Long Wharf one way north traffic pattern will be effective Friday, July 6 from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8 from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
The Washington Street prohibited parking is effective beginning at 6 a.m. on Friday, July 6 and ends midnight on Sunday, July 8.
