The 2012 Newport Summer Comedy Series lineup of comedy performers has become even more impressive with the announcement of three new shows starring three hilarious comedians all making their Newport debuts. Seth Meyers, Jim Breuer and Bob Marley are all headed to the Newport Yachting Center.
Best known for his work as anchor of “Weekend Update” on NBC’s Emmy Award-winning, “Saturday Night Live,” Seth Meyers will appear on the Newport waterfront on July 20. The head writer of the legendary show, Meyers is the sole “Weekend Update” anchor, charming audiences as he lampoons top news stories and entertains fan favorite guests. He is currently in his 11th season at SNL.
Bob Marley brings his family friendly standup show to the Newport Summer Comedy Series on August 9. He has appeared on Late Night with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and on his own Comedy Central Special along with many other television programs and movies. Marley is regularly hosted on Sirius Satellite Radio channels, Blue-Collar and Raw Dog comedy. He holds the Guinness Book of World Records’ the longest continuous standup routine completing 40 hours of stand-up comedy, the first 18 without any repetition of material.
Last but not least, Jim Breuer comes to Newport on August 16. He is a former cast member of Saturday Night Live and comes to the Newport waterfront with more than 20 years of standup comedy experience. He remains one of today’s top entertainers winning over audiences nationwide with his off-the-wall humor and lovable personality. Breuer has been named one of Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Standups of All Time.”
