Tickets for Lang and her band, The Siss Boom Bang, are $46 for standard seating or $66 for preferred seating and will be available for purchase at 10 a.m. this Thursday, Feb. 16. This headliner announcement is the second in what will be an expanded 2012 Sunset Music Series through the summer with more concerts planned than ever before. It was recently announced that Ziggy Marley will kick-off the Sunset Music Series on Friday, June 29th.
Born in Alberta, Canada, Lang’s breakaway year was in 1992 with the release of her album, Ingénue, a set of adult contemporary pop tunes. Its first single, "Constant Craving," became a Top 40 American hit and won a Grammy award for “Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female”, leading the album to Platinum status in America, Britain and Australia and Double Platinum in Canada.
The two decades since Ingénue saw Lang’s creative output and popularity skyrocket. She continued her string of Gold and Platinum albums, notched more Grammy awards and enjoyed chart-breaking singles, inspiring the ever-popular Tony Bennett to anoint lang “the best singer of her generation”.
She joins Ziggy Marley as the second headliner announced for the 2012 music series.
