NEWPORT, R.I. – It may be a touch early to be thinking about the holidays, but with the economy spurring us all to look for bargains, perhaps it isn’t too early to do a little Christmas shopping. And this weekend, you won’t find any better deals than at the St. Joseph’s Parish Harvest Fair from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. From toys and clothes to a silent auction, bargains abound at this annual fund-raiser.

Admission and parking is free. The church is located at the corner of Broadway and Mann Avenue.

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – Race through Aquidneck Island’s greenways on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at The Glen in Portsmouth for the Aquidneck Land Trust’s annual 5k run and walk. Registration costs $25 on the day of the race, $20 in advance. Email chuth@ailt.org for more.
