NEWPORT, R.I. – Jesus Saviour Church’s Summer Bazaar takes place Friday, July 24 – Sunday, July 26. Expect traditional carnival games and sinfully delicious fair fare including cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs, fries and one cultural twist: Portuguese malasadas. Made by hand from family recipes, lightly friend and coated with a dusting of sugar, it’s no wonder the line is ever-present. But the bazaar is best known for kidney bean bingo. Game after game, benches of young and old get in on the action looking to belt out a game-winning “BINGO!” for (humble) cash prizes. Held on the Vernon Street parking lot of behind the church on upper Broadway.
