The Mudville Pub, with its one-of-a-kind location next to Cardine's Field, is getting ready to re-open.
NEWPORT, R.I. – Could it be? After a year-long absence, the venerable Mudville Pub is re-opening.
The popular West Marlborough Street haunt had been undergoing extensive renovations after sustaining significant water damage as a result of a broken pipe, what seems to have been many many moons ago.
The inside of the newly renovated Mudville looks much as it did before.
But now, there’s reason for hope in Mudville. The majority of the construction to the space is complete, the tables and chairs have returned, and the bar has never looked so good. And while an official opening isn’t set until early next week (Monday or Tuesday was the word yesterday afternoon), you can still swing by and do a little Christmas shopping at the popular brew house; gift certificates are currently being sold – perfect for a Secret Santa gift or stocking stuffer.
