NEWPORT, R.I. – Have you rediscovered Easton’s Beach yet?

If not, this weekend might be the time do so. On Sunday, Oct. 11, the beach will play host to a Family Holiday Harvest Beach Festival.

Featuring a kite flying show, carousel, bumper boats, obstacle course, rock wall, face painting, a family concert, and the Kids Beach Olympics (AKA the “Iron Kid”), the festival is family-friendly to the max.

Add in family volleyball, an adults vs. kids beach kickball contest, scavenger hunt, karaoke and a bonfire on the beach and you have the makings of one heck of a day. Of course, Barry’s world-wide famous (or at least island-wide famous) lobster rolls will be on hand in the extremely likely event that you work up an appetite, as will fresh apple pie, ice cream, hot cider, cotton candy and popcorn!

Weather permitting, head down to Easton’s on Sunday anytime between noon and 6 p.m. A rain date has also been set for Oct. 12. Parking is free!
