NEWPORT, R.I. – After a frustrating day on the water yesterday, with barely a breeze to speak of, racing for Day Three of the 12 Metre Worlds had to be scrapped due to high winds.

Yes, after a day which saw winds die from 8-10 knots in the morning to barely 2 knots in the late afternoon, today’s action was officially called with winds whipping out of the North at 18-21 knots.

Conditions are expected to improve for tomorrow, setting up what should be a banner day on the water for the 17 classic 12 Metres competing for the 2009 class championship.
